OUR TRAINING FACILITY

             

National Center for Advanced Training houses approx. 1500 sq. ft. of residential home, fully functional with different carpet types, substrates, wood flooring, sheetrock, wallpaper, cabinets, vinyl floor covering, including furnishings.  This training center is used for advanced training with hands-on experience in structural drying, fire cleanup, upholstery / drapery cleaning, HVAC ductwork cleaning, as well as carpet repair / reinstallation.  The facility also houses training for the Applied Microbial Restoration Technician (AMRT/S) course.

Drying of direct-glue carpet with enhancer backing on double plywood sub floor.

Comparison of extraction systems and drying using minimum face weight carpet and medium-density pad, versus high-face weight carpet and high-density pad.

  Joe teaches with a background of over 20 years in the cleaning and catastrophic restoration business.  His ongoing experiences daily in areas of professional cleaning, restoration, inspection, and consultation allow him to relate both practical as well as educational help to individual cleaners and business owners.

As owner of Steamway General Contractors, Steamway Carpet Care and Dixie Steamway Distributors, his experience and expertise is varied to all areas of this industry.  He has achieved status of Master Textile Cleaner, Master Water Restorer, Master Smoke Restorer, and Senior Carpet Inspector.  Certified in all divisions of the IICRC, he currently holds the position of Chair of the Certification Council for the IICRC, overseeing all three divisions - cleaning, inspection and restoration, consisting of nineteen different Technical Advisory Committees.  He has participated in the Task Force for the development of Applied Structural Drying and Applied Microbial Remediation courses as well as working on the Task Force for revision of the IICRC S500 Water Damage Standards and help in development of the IICRC S520 Mold Remediation Standards.  He also serves as primary trainer and technical advisor for a national water damage restoration franchise. 

His day to day operations include direct operations of the construction division of the company, cleaning division, as well as consulting to other cleaners / restorers.  As owner of National Center for Advanced Training, an approved school with the IICRC, he is an approved instructor in Carpet Cleaning, Upholstery/Fabric Cleaning, Odor Control, Water Damage Restoration, Fire / Smoke Restoration, Spot Dye / Color Repair, and Applied Structural Drying.  He is also approved with a number of states to teach continuing education to the insurance industry in Water, Mold, Fire and Odor classes.
